Yard Queen’s designs provide the client with a scaled-rendering of the garden we recommend for your home in either 2-D, 3-D or a hybrid of 2-D and 3-D conceptual drawings. Our designs provide the client with a clear vision of the finished garden and include the mature size of recommended plants in context with existing and planned structures and hardscaping elements like patios and decks. As a landscape designer (as opposed to a landscape architect) Yard Queen does not provide measured drawings of proposed hardscaping elements. Hardscaping designs are provided as a guide for a contractor to carry out. Reference photos for design elements like fountains, pergolas, and patios are often provided to guide selection of style, material and finishes. A plant index will provide the client with details about specific plant recommendations. Up to two revision stages are included (if needed). Schematics are delivered in digital format unless otherwise requested.

Installation and consultation

Plant Material Procurement and Installation

By extending the benefit of our wholesale relationships with select plant vendors in the region, Yard Queen will obtain the plants for your project, coordinate delivery, and place them according to the planting plan for a small per plant procurement fee. This option not only saves the client time and hassle but also usually ends up costing the client less then the retail cost of plants. Installation is charged at the normal hourly rate.

Demo and Installation Liaison

Yard Queen installs newly designed planting schemes, but does not perform pre-existing garden demolition, install electrical or irrigation systems or production of any hardscaping features. To help facilitate the successful implementation of designs that require any of these services, Yard Queen works with contractors of our clients choosing. If the client needs referrals, Yard Queen can recommend our preferred installation vendors, and is available to help consult on the project execution. Acting as a liaison, Yard Queen can contribute to most communications between the client and installer to ensure that the design is carried out to the client’s satisfaction.
